Studies
Our BES program equips students to engage Scripture through the study and practice of English. Combining language development with theological insight, the program strengthens skills in reading, speaking, and understanding biblical texts in English. Students grow in clarity, fluency, and confidence as they learn to interpret and communicate God’s Word across cultural and linguistic contexts.
BES101 -
Biblical Conversation Skills
Fall 2025 & Winter 2026
BES101/BES102 develop Integrated Skills for Biblical Study. These two sequential courses use the text Exploring Parables in Luke to integrate English language development with theological exploration. Through familiar parables, students engage in a multi-skills approach—developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities alongside critical thinking. Theological concepts, issues, and themes are examined in tandem with language practice, fostering both linguistic and spiritual growth.

BES102 -
Listening, Speaking and Pronunciation in Biblical Contexts
Winter 2026
Through interactive practice, students will engage with Scripture in its spoken form, enhancing their ability to read aloud with clarity, accuracy, and expressive delivery. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the rhythm, intonation, and phonological patterns of English as used in biblical discourse, including both contemporary and traditional pronunciations.

BES104 -
